i started my day at work then went home to relax for a bit. later that afternoon drake and i went to a new park. it's amazing! they have a juvenile fishing pond which means only kids can fish there if they have an adult with them. we haven't gone fishing yet, but boy do they have a great playground! they have this amazing climbing toy, it reminds me of the eiffle tower. anyhow, here are some pictures of our time at the park!!

kindergarten graduation
drakes kindergarten graduation was sooo cute. all three classes were on the stage and performed a few songs. afterward they each got their little diploma type thing. when that was done we went to their classes and had juice and cookies. drakes teacher was amazing. she was 7 months pregnant at the begining of the year, her husband was due to come home from iraq soon, and she still found time to make each child their own little yearbook. she put projects, their writing, pictures and other fun things in their books. it took everything in me not to cry during the performances and when i saw his book.
drake came a long way this year. he went from the bottom reading group up to the second! i am so proud of him. and he loves to read. he got up the other morning, grabbed a book and started reading. another thing he did this year that made me very proud was that at the begining of the year he was hanging out with a few kids that weren't the best influences on him. he figured out that he would get in trouble when he was with them, so on his own he made new friends. friends that don't do things to get him in trouble and that do good things and make good decisions. it makes me smile when i think about that!
drake lost his....
FIRST TOOTH!! i was at the neighbors house when he discovered it as loose and i guess he freaked out and started saying he didn't want his teeth to fall out while he was crying. poor guy. he was told about the tooth fairy and that he would get money for his tooth...this made him very happy. later that evening he had all kinds of question about the tooth fairy. is it a boy or a girl? how much money do i get? how will she know when i lose my tooth? luckily i was able to do some quick thinking ad informed him that when your tooth falls out it makes a sound only the tooth fairy can hear and lets her know where you are, (kind of like a homing beacon) then he comes and puts the money under your pillow. well, my son being how he is, after pondering what i had just told him says with his hand on one hip. "mama, i'm gonna have to talk to her when she gets here." i ask why and he replies with. "well, i need to talk to her about how much money i'm getting." apparently he's learning the art of negotiations at a young age.
summer...so far
so i started my externshipt at an OB/GYN office a few weeks ago. it's going well, and i have seen some interesting things. my first day i was able to sit in on 3 procedures, that was fun. i have learned sooo much in such a short period of time and can't wait to find out what i learn in the coming weeks.
since i decided to get my ATA(associate of technical arts) i have one more year of scholl. this time i get to take the "fun" classes, you know math, spanish, writing...that kind of stuff.
drake had a great birthday. i can't believe he's 6 already. and he can read, it's one of his favorite thigns to do!
oh and as you can see, drake had a great time jumping in to his giant mud hole!
